Projector

This is a projector that lowers form the roofing system

Assignment 3 Week 5

Assignment 3 Week 5

My Final Sketch up model was a bit of a mess and I couldn't manage to get it into Lumion properly at any point as my model never showed up whenever i imported it as an object, i couldn't resolve the issue.

Here are images from sketchup:

Here are some from the Rhino Model:

These are basic untextured images but still useful in seeing the design

Unfortunately I have found Lumion tough to use for this project but have otherwise completed it.

 Left 6 Sketches: Shifted
 Right 6 Sketches: Linear

 Left 6 Sketches: Dragged
 Right 6 Sketches: Inversion
Left 6 Sketches: Rotational
Right 6 Sketches: Scalar Translation

Application of Textures

Using the Scalar texture I made to intentionally make it appear as thought it is deeper than it is.

This is applied to the carpet to create a pattern, and since it was rotation I thought it enhanced the rotation of the basic shape of the room.

Assignment 3 Week 3

Assignment 3 Week 3

The plan I edited was the Zaha Hadid floor plan for the Irish prime minister's house.

The way i have changed it to reflect the concepts of my design is by layering the simple geometric shape on top of itself three times. This reflects the way square block like sections of my building are layered on top of each other much like a Jenga Tower.

Assignment 3: My Ideas/Concepts

My Ideas/Concepts

My main idea of a building for an architecture faculty building was one that revolved around the idea of puzzles and generally the idea of problem solving and using basic shapes to reflect how each part of the building was its own "piece"

This is a concept sketch of how i'd make a building similar to a puzzle like the wooden one pictured above. the main idea that can be seen more clearly and that i focused on was haveing a centre tower with either notched that could fit rooms and pieces into it or just one that more elegant forms would wrap around.

When my tutor, Rob Asher, suggested to us to use blocks to estimate the space each room would take up I began to place blocks around the previously mentions centre tower decided i realised that the blocks began to look a lot like a jenga tower, so instead of a rigid puzzle I decided to have the more significant rooms or "pieces" at angles as if wedged there by other blocks.

This is Mondrian Painting, after playing with the black plain colour breps come in in grasshopper i found that creating a bright coloured interior reflected this art. More interestingly to me it became another way I drew focus to key buildings.

The main concept and design

Here you can see two buildings are highlighted in the same colour scheme as Mondrian.
(The yellow is the Lecture Hall, slanted appropriately, the blue is the gallery that would overlook the walkway to The Squarehouse, and is designed to draw attention to projects displayed inside it)

This is the rooms that I dedicated to different purposes which should be clear to see on the right layers tab

Final Product

Final Product

The Final Model is not complete, as I didn't have time to fix an issue with texturing my design also with some sides disappearing in Lumion whenever I transferred from sketch up.

The axonometric models were used as benches for the light rail station

This is the one texture I managed to apply without issue to a singular section

Time made it difficult to fix the texturing problem and upload any images of the final product at the same time, however all other aspects of the project were completed if you consult the other sections of my blog.

The Light Rail Models were download of SketchUp

I couldn't find my Lumion folder

I found a texture folder that was titled the same as my lumion file that containted this:
